Jun 09, 2015While a number of people have been involved in the planning of MP-con thus far, I think it's safe to say that none of us would have shown half as much interest if it weren't for Spaz taking the lead and getting the ball rolling. Chances are, even if MP-con somehow doesn't happen next year, she'll probably come in and kick us back into gear.

Today, in a shocking display of "Because I can," I'm choosing my wife as Member of the Week. I doubt any of you know this, because why would you?, but my wife is starting a new job today after spending the last 6 or so years at her last one. However, I know she's going to rock it like nobody's business.

Spaz is the only person who has ever played the MLP card game with me, thus providing the sole justification for me owning a pile of pony cards. I tip my webcam-laden hat to you, madam. (Now hurry up and check your collection so we can do some trading.)

We honor our members in many different ways here at Monkeypro. Some members are lifetime achievers. Some make interesting contributions to the site or forum. Occasionally some are honored just by virtue of having asked to receive an honor. Sometimes, though, I don't see anything wrong with honoring a member for what they've done outside of the forum. Which is why this week, WifeySpaz, I choose you! My wonderful wife and best friend is definitely family member of the week each and every week in our household, and member of the week this week on Monkeypro. (And for the record, no, it is not her birthday, our anniversary, nor did I do something wrong and need to beg forgiveness. Sometimes you do these things just because, ya know?)

It's like clockwork. A new MonkeyCraft world is generated, and SpazCat begins a posting frenzy. I have heard many a comment about how popular Spaz is both on the Minecraft server, and on the MonkeyPro message boards, and for that you shall be honored all week.

Trust no one. That is the best advice I can give you when dealing with this week's MOTW. People like Spazcat should not be promoted, be elected, be praised, and most concerning and most damning of all, should not be given psuedo-awards on internet message boards. Don't think for a second that this bit of recognition wasn't bought, likely with blood. Count your family members, fingers, and toes. And your cats.
And trust no one.
